New - Hide text that could trigger, or for film spoilers etc

Hey All,

Just to let you know about another good addition today.

The following content has been hidden - Reason : Testing!

You now have (in proper new post / reply boxes, not the quick replies) the ability to hide any content you wish, either for safety, or for fun. You can of course use it like any other BBcode tag on the forums, and write it in raw into quick reply boxes.

When you create a new post or reply, you now have a new button alongside all the others for bold / images etc, it's on the right hand side

Selecting text and pressing this button puts tags in place which will hide the selected text. Members who want to view that content, which can be an image, text or anything can press a button to confirm they wish to view it.

This can be used for revealing the answers to puzzles, plots to films / books etc and of course for masking content that could trigger


For example, here it is in use :

This text was hidden but now you have clicked the button you can see it!
[/hide]


I am not totally sure about the term Hide for it, but it is better than spoiler tag (which is what they are general known as) because it could be used for masking triggering or upsetting content as well as plots etc. If anyone can think of a better name for it do tell.

[hide] hehehehe, this is amusing. I think it will be entertaining at least, although I can def see a few legit uses for it. Can it be tweaked so that only mods can access the hidden text in some cases? I'm thinking of this for the first aid forum, where there is a lot of info that people have to PM to us because if other people read it, it's tip sharing (ammounts and such) if the boxes there were mod access only, people wouldn't have to PM us all the time with stuff.
