When May fails to impress Ruth and makes a clinical error, Ruth unleashes a barrage of anger on her mentee. However, May retaliates, resulting in Ruth sending her home. Ruth and Jay have a heated conversation, during which he tells her that she should try and empathise with people more.
Spurred on by this, Ruth pays May a visit at home, but is alarmed when she sees May slumped in a chair, with an open bottle of wine and some pills. Fearing the worst, Ruth hammers on the door and is relieved when May answers. During an awkward heart-to-heart, by drawing on her own personal and professional experiences, Ruth urges May to keep going - she can be a good doctor.
Despite having been cleared by the Ambulance Trust, Polly hands in her resignation and refuses to be persuaded to stay by either Jeff or Dixie. However, when she makes a breakthrough with a patient, she finally makes peace with what happened with Alistair and decides to stay.

Thank god!! It was alot better than last weeks Dixie and Jeff make me laugh when they are shouting at each other, they sound like a married couple lol. I dont like any of the f2s they get on my nerves.
I feel like I've been on a real rollacoaster (I suppose that's the point of tv) but I really wanted Adam and Jess to stay together, they were good together.
