That is the most pessimistic view on life I've ever heard. If everything in the middle of birth and death didn't matter then we wouldn't be here. Obviously some people quite enjoy life and some people make huge differences in other people's lives. It's possible for everyone to be happy, but if you don't try, then you won't get there.
