If I miss more than 2 of my lectures per module per term, I get de-registered from the module. So sometimes going but not listening is the only option.
I don't think that not listening is a problem for me - it just makes me laugh when people have gone completely off into another world in their heads & then the lecturer asks them something & they're just like "uh, not been listening for quite a while.." haha.
I think it only becomes a problem when people don't listen & are disruptive at the same time. That's annoying. But generally you can't get away with that in my lectures - they're normally either 4/12/25 people big. & at their biggest, about.. 50/60? So yeah.
