metal Militia just reminds me of Metallica.
Much more of a Megadeth fan myself

Metallica are amazing, i want to see them live!

i saw cry for silence yesterday which were okayish bordering good. They were supporting a band i was seeing.
I used to be a complete metalhead but not so much these days.

BTW, everyone should check out and fall in love with Opeth and Strapping Young Lad. Oh and Agalloch (espesh the Ashes against the grain album)

Not a huge fan of Opeth anymore i love their earlier stuff, they kinda lost me with Ghost Reveries. I have heard bits of their new album and the female singer in the opening song threw me i was like what is this the same band, too much change for me.

One band i would love a new album from is Burzum though Varg's work hasn't been the same while he's in prison, at worst should be another 6 years before he gets let out. Hopefully when he does he will tour a bit would love to see Burzum live, wasn't old enough when they were around and now i'm old enough to appreciate good music Burzum isn't around haha.

*BUMPS*

I think i should resurrect this thread as there doesn't seem to be anything like it or if there is i'm blind and can't see it.

Anyway what a good couple of years it has been for metal albums, awesome releases from mastodon, lamb of god, killswitch engage, machine head and of course a superb return to form from metallica. This year we still have new megadeth, slayer and anthrax albums to look forward to among others i'm probably forgetting. I'm very very very very excited.

What about festivals? been to any? I was very privelaged to be taken by my lovely girlfiend to the last day of sonisphere where Lamb of God, metallica and machine head all seperately owned.

What bands are you really into at the moment? I've been listening to five finger death punch a lot recently and they seem a very exciting prospect. Also british metal really seems to be thriving at the moment with the likes of Evile, Annotations of an autopsy, trigger the bloodshed and malefice leading the way. Brings a patriotic tear to the eye *gulps*

Sorry about the slightly skitozfrenic nature of this post i've had to much caffine.

A lot of Opeth (listening to more of their earlier stuff as i've been immersed in Blackwater Park for ages, discovered 'In Mist She Was Standing' - what an amazing opening to an album) and Megadeth recently, in preparation for Endgame of course!

Maybe i'm missing something but i've never been that into opeth, i have one album knocking about somewhere. People do seem to rave about them so maybe when i have the capital and there aren't a million other albums i want i'll give them a more serious listen. In the mean time i'm looking forward to endgame, if it lives up to the hype its going to be something quite special.

Yeah i was like that for a pretty long time, i think it takes a while to understand what they are about and kinda get used to them, but after a couple of listens through an album i started really getting into their stuff.

And Endgame sounds amazing so far, there's another track up somewhere on youtube, one called 1,320 or something, it's pretty frantic like classic megadeth.

Yeah, those two sound amazing. I think the beginning of 1320 sounds a lot like Last Rites/Loved to Deth and Headcrusher is a sure classic already.

This is the title track -

Picks up a little near the end
