Oh Hi everyone, was just thinking about you all and wondering where life had taken you, I've been learning alot about neuro diversity, mainly since my son is autistic, I'm so grateful for the development in this field, but was wondering how many of us have been diagnosed or strongly suspect we are neurodiverse, and if there had been greater understanding 10++ years ago how different things would have been for us. X
Well this was a lovely thread to read, and really nice to see some old names of people I was close to back in the day but lost touch with in here too. I miss those days, in some ways. The community, support, laughs, etc. Anyway, hi from another old-timer! Hope you're all doing as well as you can be and have good support around you. Anyone wanting to reconnect, feel free to PM me. :)
Today is my birthday and RYL dutifully sent me a birthday message, so I thought I would pop by and see if this place is still around.
Hello.
Dicky!

Debbie this is so interesting- my son is autistic and at the grand age of 33 I?m also currently being assessed! I don?t have a diagnosis at present but it would absolutely explain a lot. And particularly why I never responded to the multitudes of medications/treatments, or ever really resonated with any mental health diagnosis (diagnoses 🤦🏻*♀️) I previously had over the years. Would be really interesting to hear from others who experienced this too!

I also ended up with an autism diagnosis at 30, I imagine it's pretty common from what I hear anecdotally in the autism community.
Also another who learned I have ADD and that I am autistic in 2020 at approx 30.
I miss the (sort of) carefree days. It was a struggle otherwise we wouldnt have been here but I'm nostalgic for those days.
