But you look fine.......

So, I have returned to work after 8 weeks off. I have been offered reduced hours and although I am managing it is barely. I am struggling with anxiety. My managers are clueless and everytime I say I am struggling they say oh but you look fine,

I have someone else in my department who cries at least twice a day and gets so much support as a result whereas because i keep it to myself i dont.

How can I make people understand just because I look fine and can act normal doesn't mean I am.

Or should i just start learning to cry on cue?

Are you able to explain to any of them that you're appearing fine because you have a functional, professional front, doesn't mean you are and then explaining exactly what's going on?
This is exactly what I was going to suggest.
Also wanted to chip in and say I totally get where you're coming from, I've often had people comment that I 'look fine' when they find out I suffer from depression/anxiety and an ED. Like you I tend to keep my feelings or distress to myself and appear like a happy 'normal' person....

thanks guys unfortunatley occ health are less than useless and the managers are all men in their 20s and care more about their friday nights out than their staff's welfare :(

Oh no, I'm really sorry to hear that. Could you perhaps get a doctors note? That would prove that you are definitely struggling and may make them think a bit more seriously about your situation.
