Why do you think it was a waste of time?

because i only got £4 and the amount of work that goes into selling and buying and posting, its too much effort for a lot less money :)

My Mum is the ebay queen! I swear half of what I own is from ebay, as well as half of the things I used to own sold there. :)

I used to do it quite a bit in the past and made some good money, but you need to be carful when selling and make sure you put (esp with clothes) actual measurements in and always send things recorded for your own safety. I think its harder to sell now because of the price of postage tho and some people can never be happy with having to pay it.

I've currently selling 6 items of clothing, finished tomorrow, and I've already got over £50 in bids.

<3 a bit if eBay!

Same. Sold some dresses from Debenhams, worn once, and got about £10 for two, minus postage. Better off giving to charity shop, at least then some good comes of it.

I do! I sell mainly clothes and recently sold some DS games I wasn't playing anymore. Just anything I think people will actually want/pay a reasonable amount of money for! I also get most of my wardrobe from eBay as you tend to get some really nice rare/vintage bits x

agreed! it's so much effort and work to list everything, get it all sorted and then posted and it's just not worth the little bit money it gets you. i guess it's hit and miss though, somethings i've sold people have gone crazy for and it's been worth it but the majority of things i've made like £1 on. just doesn't seem worth it, everything goes to charity now! :)

i do a lot of buying though, ;) you can get some crazy cheap stuff!

take my hand, & we'll make it i swear.

I did a few times. I sold a job lot of goth clothes and got a fair bit for it. I also bought a really beautiful handmade Lolita dress from America for hardly anything and sold it for much more in the UK when I realised I'd probably never wear it. Not everything sold well, though. I used to find it helpful to really pimp up the description - really sell it, in terms of describing its beautiful bits and helping people to imagine scenarios in which they might wear it (assuming it's clothing). I think that's what I used to do. I can't remember.

I tend to buy more than sell. Last time I sold I lost money on one item (basically it sold less than I paid for it), and also one item didnt sell. The other two items I didnt pay for so I made a profit.
