Reviews Requested- Contains upsetting material - My A Level art final piece
I created this in my 15 hour art exam, it's based around the slut walks (if you haven't heard of them, they're protests started when a policeman said to a group of girls "If you want to avoid getting raped, don't dress like a slut" he essentially blamed the victim) and all the writing is slogans from the slutwalks. The size of this piece is about 5ft tall :)
Criticism is welcome, but please make it constructive. Nice comments are definitely welcome :)
Don't spend your life waiting for the storm to pass, just learn to dance in the rain
"I want to be magic. I want to touch the heart of the world and make it smile. I want to be a friend of elves and live in a tree. Or under a hill. I want to marry a moonbeam and hear the stars sing. I don’t want to pretend at magic anymore. I want to be magic."
Because nobody had ever done something on a proper issue before, most final pieces are just paintings of every day things like landscapes or whatever, whereas I did mine on ending victim blaming in rape

♥ .I'm going to fall like I don't need saving. ♥
...My smile's just the armour I built when I was alone...
There was some part of me that hurt so badly, that I wouldn't ever be able to forget it.
It faded but the memories could bring it back any second, keeping me in the moment.
It would never fully heal. I could never really be free. I could never really be fixed. Now I just have to work out how to live whilst being broken.
I feel like I'm dying.
This.Is.AWESOME! I love the message behind it, and good on you for doing your piece on an actual issue...did i mention i love this piece? You are really talented :)
This is breathtaking, you are extremely talented and good on you for tackling something controversial. I hope it opened peoples eyes... you had better get an A*!
I'm doing A Level art at the moment, so I know what you mean about some people just doing paintings that don't really mean anything. I salute you for this, it really is amazing. :) and I'm sure it certainly caught the examiner's eye. ;)
Have you tried art journaling? I bet you'd enjoy it, since it's another way of portraying messages like this through art, and could be done on any scale. And you have completed freedom in how you do it.
Anyway, it is stunning. You should be very proud of yourself. :)
I am no art expert (even though if I did put the letters after my name it would include a BA lol) but I really like that, it is so much better than most of the things I have seen in galleries that are supposed to be expensive and thought provoking. At least yours does provoke thought!!!
Well done I am sure you will do well.
There is no life for us apart from the ones we make for ourselves!
So get making!
