I hope this is the right place to put stuff like this. If not, I'm sorry; this is my first day on here.
So I've really been having trouble turning things in on time and focusing in class. My imagination is quite active and it's really hard to just sit down, quiet my mind, and listen. When I get home, I'm physically and emotionally drained from school and take a very long break, lasting anywhere from one to five hours. I often forget assignments even exist, or I simply don't hand them in. My folders are a mess; it can get quite annoying and sometimes I forget where I put things. Does anyone have any tips on turning things in on time and focusing in class?

Oh I get that :)
For assignments I find setting a few (hundred) reminders on my iPod works quite well... if not then a phone or something
As for the folders, get someone to check them once a week maybe?
Can't really help with the focusing, but maybe watching relevant youtube videos, or finding sites which cover the stuff you're learning after might help with things missed due to daydreaming (if you can manage not to get sidetracked)
Hope everything works out ^^

Hi ajauthor, and welcome to RYL.
I've gone through exactly the same as you are going through now about 3 years ago. I couldn't for my life remember to do assignments, let alone hand them in on time. My mind always wandered off, both during classes and at home. I lived in my own world.
Then I realised that my marks were going down and I told a teacher that I was in serious trouble, I wouldn't pass unless I'd get some help.
He offered to check up my folders once a week, and helped me make an agenda to make sure that I kept to making my homework. It may sound like something you'd do to a little child, but it helped me. If I could say anything at all: do the same, find a teacher/parent/older person with too much free time on their hands who can help you out with this.
Hope it all works out.

I do this. All the time. I think it helps if teachers are able to check my folders and also to set aside time where I will do a piece of work (or try to). By setting aside the time, I know I should be doing something. Or trying to do something for __ amount of time then rewarding myself with ____ works (fill the blanks however would work for you) :)
