Wound Care Question - cut

k, so i haven't been on this site for years, and haven't cut in a while, but i ****ed up, and it's worse than it's been before

so cut, inside of calf, lower leg, gaping a couple mm, a mm or 2 depth, 5 hours old, not closed but stopped bleeding, had gauze taped over after the major bleeding slowed because i was going to a friend's house

need stitched? medical attention? anything? or just keep polysporin-ing it and keep it covered?

cant butterfly it, cuts on either side quite close

yea, not used to dealing with this depth/width,

cheers

As it's gaping and quite deep I would strongly advise you get medical attention, and best before 12 hours have past, as if they need to stitch it they can't usually stitch after 12 hours.

**** really? yea just handlensed(its got a scale attached...) that, its 2mm wide, i cant judge depth very well, but guessing somewhere in the 1.5mm area?
the area that is widest is only maybe 1.5cm long, the cuts beside have closed, but are the same age, coule i just bandaid it together? its 11.45 pm where i'm at now...

i think i've had maybe one cut of this scale before (that i can recall at least) and i just gauzed it and left it...

I did misread your mm for cm sorry, so you may just be able to get away with it. Can you describe what the wound looks like? Can you see anything bubbly and yellow?

Not sure what polysporin is but I would just give it a good clean and pop some gauze on it.
