Eating Disorder - Laxatives making you feel sick?
Does anyone know if excessive use of laxatives can cause you to feel really sick? Just wondered if it was a side effect of abusing laxatives?

I would think it could. If you don't drink enough you could probably get dehydrated.

I agree with both of the above. Laxative abuse makes you feel very sick and, I've found, the best way to get rid of this is to drink lots of water and some Lucozade sport as well as lying down and resting/sleeping until it's passed.
Laxative abuse can be very dangerous and addictive. It might also be worthwhile seeing your doctor about it.

Drinking water is the best advice - laxative abuse can make you really dehydrated, which could be part of the reason why you're feeling sick.
Also agree with Shine - you should definitely consider seeing your doctor.

I would say something with electrolytes in rather than just water - lucozade was a good idea. Otherwise squash or rehydration solutions.

Always seem to get things just that little bit wrong.

Treat is as if you have a gastrointestinal illness and get some dioralyte rehydration sachets [they come in plain and blackcurrent flavour]. Drink plenty and keep eating.
Go see your Dr about this, laxative abuse can do some really horrible things to your insides. They could help support you in reducing the amounts you abuse if you want to get off them.
