Me & my boyfriend were having sex last night, when we noticed there was some blood. We stopped, and there was blood absolutely pouring out of me. It was awful, & everywhere. It didn't stop bleeding for roughly another half an hour. It's still bleeding now, but only a little. I wasn't sore straight away, but after the really bad bleeding stopped I started to hurt. When I pee it's really sore, & when I sit down & move around it's pretty sore down there. The only thing I can think of is that I went for an STI screening & had to swab myself down there, so maybe that scraped something & sex made it worse?
I phoned NHS 24 who weren't particularly helpful, & suggested I made a doctor's appointment in the next few days.
I'm going to make an appointment anyway, but if anyone has any idea what happened to me i'd really appreciate the reassurance.
Thankyou.
But if i still believe you love me, maybe i'll survive.
So i tell myself you're coming home, like you've done a million times.
Do you know if the bleed came from inside or outside of your vagina? It's useful, especially if it's deep inside, or still bleeding, to seek medical help, maybe by going to A&E. Sometimes lacerations can occur internally, especially if the sex is quite rough so to speak, or you might be spot on that it aggravated your swab area.
I'm glad you've stopped bleeding so much now.
yeah this is a see your md or ob/gyn question. if its a cut you can end up with a bad infection..if its not a cut..well you want someone who knows what thay are doing looking around in there ..
Thanks for the replies. The bleeding definitely came from inside. It's still really sore, but I'm so embarrassed I wish I didn't have to see a doc about it :(

The nurse had a look this morning and she can't see anything wrong with me. There's no cuts, no thrush, no infection, no swelling or inflammation and no more bleeding.
I'm crying with the pain I'm in just now. I cry before I go to the toilet because I know how sore it's going to be. Peeing is agony.
She's going to refer me to something, not gynaecology, but some other fancy name. I don't know how long it will take.
Has anyone got any ideas or advice. I'm desperate.

I've had something similar happen to me but I didn't bleed as much as you're saying you are. Was there any pain during the actual sex or just afterwards? I know you said you noticed some blood and you stopped, but was there any pain for you to notice the blood?
I went for a load of tests but they didn't really find anything that would lead to finding where the blood came from because like you, there were no cuts, thrush, infections etc.. It was all just random so I can sympathise with you on this one! It's a total bitch.
I'd also suggest trying to do a wee in a shallow bath? It sounds disgusting but, if the water is warm then it soothes the area as you're trying to go. It really does help! Or pour a jug of warm water over yourself.
Mine isn't really a stabbing pain. It's kind of like, really stingy. It really feels like there's a cut and my pee is stinging it! But like I said the nurse said there was nothing there.
I have no idea how long the referral to colposcopy (i remembered the name, i think that's to do with gynacology) will take, and the urine sample usually takes about a week.

not sure where the bleeding is comeing from so dont know if its a ob/gyn area or urology area, eather way ...ouchy and remember (urology speaking) if the blood is red/pink its comeing from the bladder or below if its brown its comeing from the kidney/uriter area ..i know that proly tmi ..but it might help
