Deliveries of pretty much EVERYTHING have been horribly slow because of the weather. But 3 weeks is a while - might be worth getting in touch with them about that one.
There are, it has been said, two types of people in the world. There are those who, when presented with a glass that is exactly half full, say: 'This glass is half full'. And then there are those who say: 'This glass is half empty'.
The world belongs, however, to those who can look at the glass and say: 'What's up with this glass? Excuse me? Excuse me? This is my glass? I don't think so. My glass was full! And it was a bigger glass!
I e-mailed them yesterday about an item I ordered, and they e-mailed back to apologise. They've offered to send out a free replacement (apparently something might have 'gone awry' with my item because it should have arrived by now), but there's obviously a lot of delays on, especially this week.
Depends where your item is coming from as well - Amazon have a big warehouse in Scotland, which I think has been affected pretty badly because of the snow, so it just depends really.
Give them an e-mail and see (otherwise have you tried tracking the item? Amazon's website has a tracker, as does Royal Mail), but it's probably just a case of waiting. :)
The massive warehouse in Scotland has all but been cut off from everything the past couple of weeks, so there is a huge backlog for them to get through. I think their system works so that items are taken from the warehouse with the largest available stock, rather than the closest one to you. Unfortunately I doubt they can modify the system to deal with the weather problems.
If you contact them their customer service tends to be quite good. You might be told to wait until a certain date before contacting them again about refunds or replacements.
Yeap - contacted them and they offered a refund or replacement for/of my DVD. I asked for a refund and bought the DVD in HMV instead (well technically I asked my Sister-in-Law to but you get the picture...!).
oh i had one thing come 2 days later than they said but 3 things (in one package) come two days earlier than they said. now awaiting another order. but mum posted something to me first class recorded delivery and it's still not turned up (from dorset to norwich). i'm not too fretful though. things arrive when they arrive. :)
I've ordered a few things and because of the snow they've been a couple of days late, I ordered something from Amazon and it's a month late. Now I realise they said snow holds things up. But it didn't hold up the other orders I placed online. They seem pretty sh*t to be honest, other companies have managed with the snow. I've got sick of waiting for my order to come, they've sent it out three times and still nothing. So I've asked for my money back, I'm very disappointed in them, seeing as I ordered it before all the snow came and I still haven't got it. Ignore my post I have the Amazon induced grumpies

Other things will be coming from different places. Other companies have not coped in the snow either. A lot of major companies (including supermarkets) have pretty much cancelled all deliveries to Scotland and some parts of the north of England. At least Amazon and Royal Mail are trying to clear the backlog.
Of course they make mistakes, and it would be foolish to say otherwise. With such a huge international business they will never get things perfect all the time, that's to be expected. It's wrong to judge a company on one bad experience though. I've always found them to be excellent, and their customer service to be quite good.
Amazon do dispatch very quickly, and for most items they use royal mail. So it's not their fault really, if you want to blame anyone then blame royal mail but tbh it's the snow causing havoc.
I've still been getting things through from amazon, just about four or five days later than expected.
Isn’t it funny how day by day nothing changes but when you look back, everything is different…
you once called your brain a hard drive, well say hello to the virus.
My stuff was apparently dispatched a couple of weeks ago..but haven't got here yet. I mean, a couple of items I don't mind being late because they're just random DVDs I decided I wanted..but the other DVDs are Christmas DVDs and it's just not the same watching Christmas films after Christmas :P
But it'll all arrive in time. I'll contact them if they haven't arrived after Christmas and ask for a refund..maybe order them again next year. November time ;D Or just watch them in the middle of the year to say 'SCREW YOU!' to society.
I'm gonna tap him like a maple tree. I'm gonna search him for some syrups. I'm gonna be having sex with him.
I never had any problems with amazon at all.
I'm always surprised how fast they deliver.
I ordered a book from England to Germany and i got it after a week or so.
You survived the abuse.
You're gonna survive the recovery.

I agree it is wrong to judge them on one bad experience but personally it's been a few bad experiences over the last year or so. Maybe it's just me having bad luck but I've had to chase orders, had no replies to emails etc. I'm normally a very patient person and accept that mistakes will be made but lately I've just been having bad luck with them and it's getting annoying. Over the past few years I found the customer service good, got replies to emails and queries etc but over the past few months I've had different experiences. When I contacted them about my recent order they told me to wait another two weeks, I think 6 weeks is too long to wait even taking snow into consideration. So I just asked them for a refund.
