"Look like douches"? People who think this **** is funny look like douches. I can appreciate something that is funny- even about race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, dietary habits, religion(or lack thereof) whatever- but this is just plain old ****ing stupid, and I have the right to think so, apparently you(and everyone else who is terribly upset that my opinion differs from theirs about a **** attempt at a joke) need to get over that.
I just think its bullshit when someone who clearly didn't think the joke was funny in the first place, decided to come in and ruin a perfectly good thread when hey, you could have just stayed out and ignored this "stupid" thread dontcha think?

Seriously, this is the first time I will encourage someone to eat meat, if a bacon sandwhich will give you a dose of calmthe****down.
I think it's bullshit when someone posts(or says) something stupid or with the intent of being offensive and expects no conflict, just a mutual stroke fest of "teehee that's so funny ur awesome"
If someone wants to post or enjoy **** like this, then they should grow a ****ing pair, because it should be expected to receive criticism when you think being offensive is hilarious.

lungs locked lips, yep, people have had fun here joking about which is lovely, but now people are getting upset and tensions are being raised we should drop the issue and move on.
seriously, i'd hate to see anyone fall out or get upset over a silly little joke, or for anything to spiral out of control, especially as this is a site full of people with varying levels of mental health issues.

And it's the same old behavior on the part of many involved in it, too. A group of people who seem to consistently do nothing on the boards but try to provoke people / be offensive/ never have anything good to say. Completely unaffected by any sort of modding, as well.
I was not at all offended by the joke, and I doubt I'm in the minority here by not being offended.
I take my vegetarianism seriously but it was just a joke, I acutally thought it was quite funny. I've been veggie for 12 years and lots of my family are, but they found the joke funny too.
I don't think it was intended to offend anyone, just to lighten the mood and provide some comic relief.
I don't think we need to debate people being offended, everyone is entitled to their opinion, even if it might seem radically different.
And if a thread is found upsetting it might be worth considering the 'Ignore' feature.
From here I think it might be best if we all take a step back and move the thread onwards, now, and back on topic.
if by this statement you mean overrun with overly sensitive tweens who personalise every statement on the board as a personal attack upon there self image then no, it wasnt always like this.
how in anyway was the first post offensive to you? honest to god. if you could separate the way you behave from the way you see yourself we wouldnt have this problem. who honestly cares how you eat, dress or behave?

IMO, threads like these a clearly light-hearted, but sometimes mean comments are made. Either way, be able to laugh with each other and be nice please. You don't have to agree with everything to get along. One of my best friends is very strong Republican, while I am very liberal. We make fun of each other all the time but that doesn't mean we hate or fight with each other.
Grow a thick skin or learn to laugh. And at the other end of the spectrum, some people should know what's kosher and what is crossing the line.

You're not in the wrong if someone is offended by something you say, but at the same time don't they deserve not to be attacked for being offended? I guess it depends on how "ridiculous" (and I hesitate to use that word) the topic in question is.
