Through the dark, a strand of light, the light continued to get bright, with it came the strength to fight (Gem)
All I can say Helen is keep being honest and keep leaning on the nurses but it's also worth acknowledging to them how you feel it's helping so they and you can see how far you have come.
When we lose twenty pounds... we may be losing the twenty best pounds we have! We may be losing the pounds that contain our genius, our humanity, our love and honesty. ~Woody Allen

keep going helen. i know you can do this.
i know you have all the strength and courage you need to fight this till the end.
please don't give up, take each day as it comes and you will have everything you've ever wanted and dreamed for.
Hel has just posted this in her R&V which explains what's happening with the funding.
'With the 2 weeks Helen has been here, we've been able to acess her & we've only just found out how severe Helen's Bulimia really is,,, she is is grave danger of replase if she is discharged next week. We would be looking for at least another 8 weeks inpatient treatment, although the commisers refused any more funding originally, we will apply for more, aiming to have a result by next week. If its refused, we have no choice but to discharge her...'
Aww No! I dont know what to say really, its sad as they have been quite tight on the funding nevertheless you do desvere this and i know you can beat this Helen! Keep strong hunni.
However slim, she may be able to get more funding when they re apply for it, it may show she needs it that badly if they keep fighting for it.
So, let's hope eh?
x
*fingers crossed for more funding* thoughts are with you Helen xxx
"John, being brave is going where no man has gone before and with Lizzy Stark, that is NOT what you'll be doing!" - Aunt Polly.
“I told him I was going to betray you, and betray Lyra, and he believed me because I was corrupt and full of wickedness; he looked so deep I felt sure he'd see the truth. But I lied too well. I was lying with every nerve and fiber and everything I'd ever done...I wanted him to find no good in me, and he didn't. There is none.”
I am keeping all my crossables crossed for Helen to get more funding.
I want to kiss the bottom of the ocean before I burst through its surface into the sunlight, otherwise I will always be wondering about what was left unseen at the bottom
i'm tired of chasing my dreams. i'm just gonna ask where they're going, and hook up with them later.
Well it's good that they're at least on her side now!! =)
Hope that the funding comes through.
I've had a lot on recently, but will definitely be writing a letter to Hel tomorrow. <3 xx
It's good that they finally acknowledged how severe her bulimia is & that they are now on their side.
The funders are more likely to listen to the staff & let's just hope they impress upon them how vitally important it is that Helen gets some more funding.
i much they contine the funding, it would not be fair for helen to be sent home when she is ill,,
your in my thoughts helen
keep fighting love
I had a dream that we were dead but we pretended that we still lived
With no regrets we never bled and we took everything life could give
And came up broken empty handed in the end
She is trying to cut back. She's talking to the nurses and telling them when she has purged. 4 weeks is simply not enough time for somebody like Helen. She's been eating disordered a majority of her life, and that is not going to change in two or three weeks. She needs longer treatment. She is making the effort to stop, if she wasn't, she wouldn't be openly communicating with the staff at Cotswold. Purging, as with any other eating disorder behavior is a very difficult thing to stop, especially when the problem is so deep-rooted, as it is with Helen. But you are right on one thing, the staff does need to be doing more to help Helen's purging. And by applying for more funding, they'll be able to help her more, obviously. I don't think Helen is wasting anybody's time being there, she is trying her best.
Keep going Helen, you can do this, we all believe in you.
I love you <3
Erm, she has cut back on how much she is purging. She is only purging occasionally now. Comparing that to what she was like before she was admitted, I'd say she's cut back more than what can be expected of her. She's been doing amazingly well & I think this is not a waste of money or time. She is learning a lot of new things, she is taking better care of herself, she is interacting with the staff and the patients, and she is engaging in recovery based goals for herself.
