Mildly Triggering (ED) - Quick Question

Just a quick question:

Is it part of an eating disorder to eat normally (no binging) but purging after?

I did as part of my anorexia - ie when forced into a situation i had to eat normally. And also when i was recovering but struggling with my meal plan.

Recovered now tho (y)

Hiya Katie

I actually do this. So if you're referring to yourself- I can relate. I purge after eating a normal sized meal, I've never actually binged. I think this falls under the category of ED-NOS (eating disorder not otherwise specified). It's still very dangerous though, so if this is about you, you might want to look into getting some help for your purging. Purging is very dangerous for your body, health and mind. It can also spiral out of control very quickly..

If you want to talk to somebody about this, feel free to PM me or add me on msn.

Best wishes,
Shauna

I do this, I do purge after normal meals or even snacks & I very rarely binge, but then the snacks or meals I eat feels like a binge to me.

As Shauna said purging is very dangerous. Please keep safe

Hiya Katie,
Every eating disorder is different, people do different thing. I Wouldnt focus on whether or not you are binging, its the fact that you are purging. Echoing what everybody else is saying, that in itself is very dangerous.

could we fix you if you broke..

It can be part of purging anorexia.
I mean it doesn't have to have a label but it is definitely another dangerous behaviour
