I think they're an interesting concept but they really are just taking the concept and milking it now.
Exactly. The first is brilliant, second average then it goes into garbage trying to tie up 4 (or more) movies into a coherent plot and interesting traps.
The plots are multi-linked into other plots of the earlier works making them confusing and less interesting to watch on it's own merit.
The traps are too complex and the original aim is lost
The characters have become throwaway and any attachment is lost, since we know they'll die at the end.
The main antagonist, despite being an enigma and not some generic type, is dead, so any more movies will not be as good.
I could go on, but my general point is there (somewhere), as far as I'm concerned SAW was promising but went downhill after the second.
