I have scars on my entire left arm from self harm. I've been fighting to stop self harming all together. I don't know wether or not to get a full tattoo sleeve or just a few tattoos on that arm.
NOTE: I'm 14 but planning tattoos for the future and am planning to become a marine. I don't know if I want to sleeve my whole arm or wear my battle scars proudly.
At least you have plenty of time to think about it, because it's a big decision. You might feel differently by the time you are old enough. Even then, take the time to decide what you really want.
Scars change and mature in time and so does your taste and your future goals I think while it's great to plan ahead... live in the now and see where you're at when you're old enough to get a tattoo or not.

I think that in the future you'll be able to do that. I've several friends that have grown up with scars like you describe, they are doing well and wear there battle marks with pride.
