Any tips?
Hey all, anyone have any tips or tricks for lessening the nausea caused by being in pain? Honestly is awful.

I don't know about nausea caused by pain, but ginger is good for when you feel sicky. I've heard lots of people swear by ginger tea.

I don't have much in terms of advice but I can definitely relate as I'm getting the same.
Are you able to try and rest, drinks loads of water and eat manageable amounts. Your body needs nutrition and hydration to heal and cope in general.

Thanks Luna, I am managing to eat normally- even if mostly what I fancy is sweet stuff. So sorry to hear you are going through similar.
I don't like anything too ginger-ish other than ginger bread men.

have you looked at alternative stuff such as mindfulness, yoga and associated breathing techniques? They are surprising good for dealing with pain and nausea.

Would it be worth popping into a pharmacy to see if one of the otc anti-emetics would help?

Thanks guys.
I shall give ginger biscuits a go! And I work in a dentist so always have mints on hand- quaver breath after lunch isn't a great advertisement.
Pilates does help but I'm too knackered to do it.
And I haven't asked a pharmacist no. But travel sickness tablets don't do much.

There are some designed for migraines but I don't know how the active ingredient differs to the travel sickness ones.

This might not be helpful since the nausea I have is not related to pain, but I find certain positions tend to make it better/worse? Like for me sitting more upright and sleeping with an extra pillow can help instead of being more flat. So if you are home and able to relax, find a comfy chair to sit in instead of lying in bed, for example. Or sleeping with your head more propped up if you wake up feeling nauseous a lot.

Please do not give me virtual hugs unless you are only using the hug function on threads. Thanks.
You can't always keep it separate.
This is happening, this is part of you.
