Streaming recommendations in particular Netflix.

I know that there's several old topics on this subject but i need an up to date version as some programmes that are suggested no longer exist.

I have recently acquired an Netflix account and I am after suggestions. Things I like are obviously Keeping Up Appearances but I enjoy period dramas. I know of The Crown but I have got all the series released to date on dvd. I plan to watch Bridgerton at a later date. I enjoyed Merlin (which I know is on there) but I have it all on dvd so would like to avoid anything I already own. I enjoy Doctor Who (have a fair few classic) and historical documentaries just as long as it isn't about war. I dont like Friends (each time I have tried to watch it I get bored halfway through and turn off) and Murder She Wrote so anything similar is a no no. I prefer British programmes.

There's so much choice i dont know where to start. I rarely have the concentration to sit through a film so please no film suggestions.

So any suggestions would be welcome. Also I have now tv (just the entertainment pack) and amazon prime so if anyone has any suggestions for any of those i would be grateful.

I watch Chicago Fire pretty obsessively and it's currently got various seasons across Prime, Netflix and NowTV.

House MD is on Prime at the moment if you don't have it on DVD.

I love Lucifer but there's no way to stream the first two seasons in the UK currently - there's some kind of fight going on between Netflix and Amazon I think.

The Good Place and Schitts Creek are good, feel good things.

None of those are British and I've just noticed that you said you prefer British things, sorry I missed that (though Tom Ellis plays the main character in Lucifer so there's that)

There's quite a lot of early 2000s British comedy on Netflix at the moment - Spaced, Hot Fuzz, Shaun of the Dead, Peep Show etc. After Life with Ricky Gervais is supposed to be good.

I'm not sure of any good dramas, but those are things I enjoy :)

Thanks for your reply Lio. I have discovered the British category on Netflix so I have been looking at that. I will certainly have a look at what you suggested and see if any take my fancy.
