I didn't know the Tour began in Yorkshire this year. I just turned it on today. I wondered if anyone here is going to watch. I bike a lot and will watch most of the race stages on TV in early morning hours. First three stages = Leeds to Harrogate, York to Sheffield, Cambridge to London.

I'm watching it this morning; it goes past the end of my road. It's been incredibly busy here (it came through yesterday too) but lovely for what is usually a very quiet town to have something to celebrate.
It was horrible to see Cavendish crash yesterday.
Re: the crowds, they have been bordering on dangerous at times. It was frustrating to see a fan pat a cyclist on the back during the Tour yesterday.

I haven't got a television so won't be watching it. Whilst having tea with my parents last night we were watching the highlights of the first stage on the TV.
I felt sorry for poor old Cavendish; that looked like an unpleasant fall.
According to the route, it goes within a few streets of my boyfriend's flat tomorrow.
It would be cool to go (I went to the Olympic torch parade when it went through my town) but he'd be at work so I'd be standing there for a few hours by myself!
Isnt it funny how day by day nothing changes but when you look back, everything is different

I don't think I've ever seen so many people put their hands on riders.
Cav of course is out of the race. That really diminishes the sprints. Broken collar bones are the signature injury of bike racers. They have slight upper bodies and when they put their arms out in a fall their collar bones can't take the shock.

I watch on television but I also download the stages and watch them (or parts of them) on computer. Many people record the tour stages and put them online. Its legal to download them. You just need a decent internet connection for HD versions

Standing by yourself in a TdF crowd doesn't sound very lonely. You should go and take photos lol
It came through my village a couple of years ago, we went to the route and saw them go past, was fun!
Its kind of on in my house, along with Tennis/World cup/Formula 1....shame that I find sport in general really dull to watch!

I looked in on some tennis while watching replay of Grand Prix. I never could watch tennis. I don't care for most of the players. All the grunting, moaning and women on steroids were a turnoff. I don't like guys on steroids but women on them is worse. Serena Williams looks like she should be playing second row.

I watched it in Yorkshire with the girlfriend and her parents.
Was a experience, biking isn't really my thing but was fun to watch and kinda sock it up.
The race in London would have been cool to watch. The peloton is large and colourful but with a sprint in the rain the chance of a crash added in all the riders are on edge. Not that I hope for a crash lol. The chance just makes the finish more dramatic. A lot of bike finishes can be pretty tame
