Self Harm Resources
What is your favorite/most helpful self-harm resource? By resource I'm thinking: hotline, website, chatroom, book, poster, project... etc, something you could link/send to a friend.

Silence can be golden but gold can sometimes suffocate
Like that girl in that James Bond film, too late to respirate
Tragedy can be plain to see with lights and sirens
But sometimes it ain't quite so clear, Domestic Silence

To link to other people, the Cutting Warning Label. I just think it's a wonderful resource.
These are the best ones on here:
Self Harm: Self Harm Information Package | Cutting Warning Label
SI Recovery: RYL's Big Distraction Page | Butterfly Project | White Wednesday | Uh-oh Box

It doesn't matter where you come from; it matters where you go.
No-one gets remembered for the things they didn't do. We won't all be here this time next year,
so while you can take a picture of us. We're definitely going to hell,
but we'll have all the best stories to tell.

I have yet to find one... This forum is pretty good but sometimes it's not 100% effective. Nothing against anyone here, but some suggestions tend to not apply to each person so at the end of the day, you can't really do much since each person is different and people are well meaning but may not know what works best for each and every person. So for example, telling someone to seek therapy may mean well but may not help the person ultimately.

I really like the 'Your Life Your Voice' Hotline. You can call to talk, if your upset, wanting to SH, whatever....I have called twice and both times were extremely helpful for me. The # is 1-800-448-3000

Lone Star- just because something isn't perfect doesn't make it not worthwhile. It's definitely better than nothing!
For me personally I find the list I created of reasons not to self harm helpful, as I created it myself so it's personal to me, and would probably recommend that a friend tried to come up with their own list. I'd also probably recommend the Samaritans or another helpline, as even though I'm pretty anxious on the phone, on a few occasions I did end up ringing them, and it helped to talk things through.
And Sophia already linked to the cutting warning label; I think that's pretty good too.
