Prom Season

Ahhhh. Prom. SO exciting. And coming up very quick.

And this leaves me with an issue. I have been self harming for several years. I recently spent 2 weeks in a hospital for my depression and anxiety and have now been clean from sh since January 9!!! That is the longest time in years.

Unfortunately prom brings a problem. My dress is sleeveless. Does anyone have any makeup tips for me? I need help!!!

Please note that people in my life know about my mental illnesses and i am not trying to hide anything. I would just feel more comfortable if my entire school didn't see my scars.

I believe that derma blend works quite well but I am not sure if it's available in your country since I don't know which country that you are in. Both the UK and USA have proms.

Alternatively you could try foundation or long gloves.

Whatever you try it's super important that you don't put it on fresh cuts. Perhaps you could make it your goal not to SI between now and your prom?

I don't have much useful advice, but wanted to say well done on being sh free since January. That's an awesome achievement.
Perhaps you could get a shrug/bolero jacket type thing to wear with the dress if you want to hide scars if you can't get makeup.

Have a good prom.

Alternatively tattoo covering creams may work as they have to be pretty tough. If it's only a small area then you can get strips instead of creams.

Whatever you try practice beforehand. Most makeups have to be blended to match your skin tone and the last thing you want is to be rushing around panicking on the day of your prom.
