Celexa/Cetalipram

Has anybody taken celexa/cetalipram for depression and anxiety? Just curious if anybody's taken it before and how it affected them.

I'm on it for depression but on 30mg it's working for me as I feel a lot better. The only thing is I can't sleep so u may want to take in the morning. It give me a weird stomach ache for the first week too. Good luck xxx

I was on them for awhile and didn't have any ill affects from them. I did stop taking them though, as I felt they weren't really doing anything for me, but they affect everyone in different ways =]

I took it and liked it. It helped a lot, and only real side effect was nightmares every night. Only problem is that after monthsss it just stopped working for me, which happens sometimes with SSRIs. Celexa is a good anti-depressant to try if you're new to meds.

Thanks! Sorry about the spelling :) The nurse suggested to me to take it at night because it might make me sleepy. I have weird dreams anyway, so I don't think that's going to be anything new.

I've been on citalopram for depression for about a month now. The side effects dissapeared within the first two weeks for me, but I still have nightmares, i'm not sure whether that's related to me taking it on a night. I haven't found any improvement on it yet, so remember it can take up to 6-8 weeks to feel better. :)

But if i still believe you love me, maybe i'll survive.
So i tell myself you're coming home, like you've done a million times.
& if it's alright, i'll still be loving you.
'cause i can't break it to my heart.

ive been i think 60mg (it keeps changing lol) for about a year and a half. It took a few weeks to kick in but it has been the most effective antidepressant for me, and ive had a few. Im not sure about side effects because i was on a lot of other medications when i first started it and was in hospital so cant realy remember. I do know its best to take it in the mornings, as it can cause insomnia - maybe taking it in the morning would help with dreams too. Remeber everyones different and reacts to medications differently. I hope it helps you hun xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

After all this has passed, i still will remain

I was on it a while ago and I don't think I noticed any mood changes or side effects. I hope you find it helpful. Take care.

I put it down on paper and then the ghost does not ache so much.

I've been on it a couple of months now I think, maybe more.

It has made a difference to my depression, its better then before. Altough since being on it I have no motivation to do anything, I don't see the point of getting out of bed...

I switched to Citalopram a couple of months ago after not being able to cope with the nightmares being caused by prozac. It isn't really working for me too well and so has been upped this week to 40mg. I haven't had any side effects which I suppose is good. Hope it helps you.

I'm on it and it has done wonders for me (although I think it was the combination with seroquil for me that really made a difference).

I was on it a few months back. It didn't help at all; didn't feel better but didn't feel worse. Hope they're okay for you

I was on it a couple of years ago and it did nothing, but my mum is currently on it and it's working well for her.

That's really interesting that people have said that about different meds and since they're both SSRI's maybe the nightmares are just caused by the sudden influx of serotonin you guys get at night rather than a side effect of any specific med?

You cannot get through a single day without having an impact on the world around you What you do makes a difference, and you have to decide what kind of difference you wish to make.

Hey everyone! So I have been on Citalopram for 2 months now and it is helping. But in the last couple of weeks my appetite has gone crazy! I eat and eat and can't get full....when I do get full it doesn't take very long for me to get stomach growling hungry again :( I haven't noticed any weight gain, but it's kind of annoying. Anybody else have anything like this?

I have just come off it after 6 months, switching to Prozac for 4 weeks to try and see if it helps. I didnt have any side effects after the inital nausea and nightmares of the 1st month or so.
