I am currently:

Well..
I'm bipolar type 1
and am refusing medication due to my doctor managing to **** up everything.
Is there other ways to quiet the mania and brighten the depression without drugs..
Cigarettes and weed are the only things that help lately.

Heyy, its all about having a healthy lifestyle and looking afteryour self.
Obviously you know the weed can cause more problems in the long term.
Anyhoo...
for depression:
try some therapy, cbt
try and do some exersice, even a gentle walk for 30 mins a day can help
eat healthy, with lots of fruit and veg, good fats, etc
try and have some structure in your day, even though its hard when your not motivated
i find painting helps me
for mania
focus the energy on something positive, go swimming, go to the gym, kick a ball about, go for a run
also, try and avoid over spending, just take the money out you need and leave card at home
talk to someone who can recognise the signs of when you're becoming manic so they can help
take care xx

she pretty much said it all and better then i could.
routine is really important aswell, to help prevent the swings, or to keep them not as bad. sleep! tho we hate it, its good to have a routine with it, go to bed and get up and roughly the same time every day!

I'm uber-healthy..
am as healthy as possible usually.
Sports ect.
I just don't see it doing much for me :/

meds or what we suggested?
just keep your sports up, they're good for depression especially, creates endorphines or whatever they are. i used to be a dancer, so i get the whole uber healthy thing, it helps! even if you cant see it because you've always been healthy, it is helping. what you eat makes a difference i find. but i might just be sensitive to foods!

okay well thats good, could you start identifying the symptoms at the begining of a manic episode and depressed episode? so when you stop these symptoms developing you can try and get help early?x
