I'll assume you've seen the thread mentioned in the title and skip the explanation of it.
I was thinking about it today, and I wrote a silly little poem condemning text-speak (which, as some of you know, I LOATHE). I was going to just leave it in the Creative Corner but it's not exactly a work of art (it took all of 40 seconds to write), so I figured I'd post it here where more people would see it (and hopefully where people who share my hatred of text-speak can appreciate it). =)

Language is a tool and, like a tool, can be abused;
Ripped apart and torn to shreds to keep small minds amused
(Like kids who smash their toys on Christmas morn, the little bruisers),
And heavy dictionaries should be thrown at the abusers.
