I really like your rule of not letting people say they are going to do something dangerous, I have visited sites like this before where that kind of thing happens and I cant deal with it because you cant help, what if they stop replying and stuff, i cant deal with that at all, thanks for not letting that happen. it is better for everyone this way and i dont have to worry.
There are times to stay put, and what you want will come to you.
But there are times to go out into the world and find such a thing for yourself.
I aint no abacus but you can count on me.
I also appreciate that drugs and drug use can not be glamorised or encouraged. That keeps it safe for me.
My husband is my best friend.
In forgiving others, we are not exonerating them. They may not deserve exoneration. Rather, in forgiving others we are giving up our anger over the fact that what happened is not what "should" have happened or that our life is not the way it "should" have been.
Awh.:) I'm glad you like that rule... I like it too; I'd get so stressed if someone suddenly told me they were about to overdose or something, leaving me completely helpless and wondering if they're okay... it's happened to me before (but not on here). Welcome to RYL. :)

I remember what RYL was like before this policy and it wasn't pretty. A person would post their "intentions", get a lot of replies - and then 10 others would do the same things. People got exhausted and morbid trying to keep up with things and it didn't work out at all.
Depends on if you consider suicide/OD's "dangerous". People used to post goodbye notes, their planned OD's etc. In fact there was quite a fuss when posting goodbye notes, descriptions of suicidal intentions were dropped. It was terrible stress on kids before that though. If something more recent happened and caused a stir then that's maybe a good sign because I have seen lots of those upsetting type threads in the past but not lately.
You can talk about drug use in reference to Portugal. Just reference Portugal anytime you want to glamorize drugs. The rule states you can't "share anything that discusses, encourages or condones illegal activity" where as drugs in Portugal are decriminalized.
"Discussion of anything that is against the law in your country is prohibited."
****, I should have read it all. This may stop my loophole unless I move to Portugal. I think as long as you actually reference Portugal is should still be allowed, or change the rule to "do not talk about drugs" and drop the illegal mention, but then caffeine encouragement is banned. I think the "in your country" clause is lame. A british member could talk about drinking at 18 while being 3 months away from 21 it would not be allowed for me to comment.
And the rules aren't just for shits and giggles. There's a good reason for all of them. They may not apply to real life, but they are certainly relevant for RYL.
Ah, but there IS a rule about encouraging and glamourising drug use.
Only illegal ones, which stands to question Portugals decriminalization.

I know, which is why for the most part I follow them even if I personally disagree with them. I'm just ****ing around, I like being difficult. :)
