I am curious to something that happens every so often...not sure if its healthy or not

but anywhom to the point

anywhom I have this issue where if something is bothering me..i end up cleaning for hours on end...and wont really stop moving till i seem pleased with my cleaning...and sometimes if i am angry and something is bothering me i will end up cleaning and arguing with myself ..

and i want to know if this is healthy or not..?

My mum does the same thing. When she gets stressed, she tidies up. I don't think it's unhealthy at all, I mean, it doesn't harm you or anyone else, so it seems like a pretty good, healthy coping strategy to me. However, if it's becoming obsessive and getting in the way of your normal life, that's not healthy. If that's the case, or you feel anxious almost all the time, then it might be a sign that you're suffering from an anxiety disorder, in which case you should seek help from a medical professional.

It sounds like your meds aren't helping you as much as they should be. You need to discuss that with your psychiatrist. Are you having therapy for your anxiety disorder?

I used to suffer really badly from an anxiety disorder so I know what you're going through. I got so bad I couldn't sit still, couldn't be left alone, had several panic attacks a day etc. I was only on medication for it for one week. Trust me, with anxiety, the way you get better long-term is with therapy, specifically for me it was cognitive behaviour therapy. Meds should only be used to control your symptoms, they are not a cure.

I would seriously thinking about asking for a second opinion. No psychiatrist should stick somebody with any mental illness on medication without offering them therapy as well or as an alternative, but particularly something as treatable as an anxiety disorder.

I would not its unhealthy because in a way your relieving your self and if cleaning is the key then so be it ..! its not harming no one or your self .! infact it helping ..!

I do this all the time too... I love organizing and it helps when I'm manic/anxious. I don't think it's a bad thing as long as you're not neglecting something else. But if you're feeling anxious, you should tell your psych.
