I have had a good Tuesday. Hope I will have a good Wednesday. Hope you do too.
When Google Street View launched in the United States two years ago, people soon started to notice odd things that had been accidentally captured by the company's cameras as they patrolled the streets.
In the 24 hours or so since the service launched in the UK, there have been complaints and controversy. But also some very strange sightings indeed, as reported by
Times readers and the site
Google sightseeing. Here's a rundown of the ones we've heard about so far.
1. Wally found! On Putney High Street in South London. Before the launch, it was rumoured that Wally of
Where's Wally? fame would be hidden somewhere on a high street in the UK. Well, he's here.
2. Demonic happenings? The clouds swirl mysteriously above the MI6 headquarters near Vauxhall Bridge.
3. The Stig. The star of the BBC's
Top Gear is caught in characteristic relaxed pose, by a window in Shepherd's Bush. Or is it a life-size cut-out?
4. Cycle accident. Did this person in Bristol fall off that bike, or was he or she pushed? The camera captures the instant of a painful fall.
5. Jaws 7: Street Shark's An aquatic life form is spotted in the roof of a house in Oxford.
6. Roll out the barrel...urm, better make that a bucket. A man in fancy dress comforts his less than well companion in Shoreditch.
7. Paddington Bear. Caught near the British Museum, presumably on a shopping trip for marmalade.
8. Here's Paddington again. This time in Trafalgar Square. We believe it must be the same shopping trip.
9. Man stops to relieve himself. It's in Birmingham, and in public.
10. Illegally parked car being removed. The London borough of Lambeth's ever-vigilant traffic cops make another motorist's day.
11. The truth is out there...in London. Nine mystery silver discs can be seen above a bookmaker's shop in an image of Bethnal Green, east London.
12. Scary Mary. A Victorian ghost in Cardiff.
13. Phone Home, by reversing the charges. ET and a laser beam in Jersey.
