Mildly Triggering (ED) - Constantly Craving Food or Something to Taste?

This may sound weird, but I'll go through periods where I am constantly craving food (hungry or not) or feel as though I need to have the taste of food in my mouth...I technically have not been diagnosed with anything as of late (though I was anorexic in high school briefly), but I definately have problems drastically restricting my food/calorie intake for periods of time. What happens is I'll restrict for awhile, eat "normally" for awhile, and so forth.

Do you think it could be related to my restricting? Also, I don't drink enough fluids/water, so could it be b/c I'm dehydrated or something? Does this happen to anyone else?

Happens to me. I'm a junk food whore, so I'm always sucking on some sort of candy to appease my mouth.

It could be a myriad of things... If you know you don't drink enough fluids, remedy that (whether or not it has anything to do with this issue, you should always be hydrated!) Does it really matter why? Maybe it is correlated with your restricting, like your body is signaling the need for food?

I know that I get this after periods of restricting ... I think it's because I finally give my body something it just wants more and more all the time... I've found if I try and keep a healthy eating pattern (no restricting) that the cravings fade after a while...

I read somewhere... how important it is in life
not necessarily to be strong...
but to feel strong.

I find that being dehydrated makes me crave food more, so maybe you need to try and drink more water?

I'd say there's a high chance of correlation between restricting and the cravings. When you restrict, your body goes into starvation mode. So when you cycle between eating normal and restricting, your body wants to stock up on as much food as it can for the next starvation period.

Drinking more water to keep yourself hydrated is good advice no matter who you are, so try to keep your fluid levels up.
