MY DAY = AMAZING

So, I'm super excited about how my day went and I felt like I wanted to share. So, I went to Dollywood today! ( a local theme park here in Tennessee) I go there quiet a bit. I saw one of my favorite groups there. This is the last weekend I get to see them though. They are only at Dollywood during the Festival of Nations (a time where Dollywood invites diff. types of shows from all over the world to share their culture, it's really cool). So, this year during Festival of the Nations I've gone about 5 times. I developed a liking of 2 groups they have there. The Zambian Vocal Group which is this amazing group of guys from Kalingalinga in Zambia who have overcome so much in order to travel around the world singing gospel songs, and a group called Keona which is formed from 2 french guys and a girl from the UK.. they play these instruments called hang drums which were made in Switzerland in 2001 and they are the most rare percussion instrument in the world. Today during one of Keona's performances they invited a guy from the Jennifer Roland Band (a Canadian band here for Festival of Nations) and the Zambian guys to perform with them. It was AMAZING!!!!

I look around the world and all I see is discrimination and hate. People pay way too much attention to people's skin color, gender, or where they come from, or their social class. But the thing is, none of that really matters. When it comes down to it, God doesn't see race, gender, or social class.... He looks at the heart! (sorry if religion isn't your thing, but it's part of my day, just overlook it) It was really amazing to see 6 Zambian men who came from Kalingalinga, a town where people expected nothing good to come from you if you came from there, 2 French guys, a girl from the UK and a guy from Canada, all on stage for the sake of glorifying God through their amazing music skills. It didn't matter what race they were, or where they came from, what language they spoke, or their social class. They all came together and made some of the most amazing music I have EVER heard!!!

Later that day, I went to see the Zambian Vocal Group's show. Not even halfway through a storm rolled in. The theatre is an outside theatre so when lightening is too close, they cancel the show. They had to turn off all the sound, but the huge crowd they had drawn wanted to still hear them sing. I go to Dollywood a lot, and in all my years of going, every time a show is cancelled, the performers head backstage. But the Zambian guys were still willing to put on a show. Since their voices weren't going to carry to the people in the back, they invited the crowd to sing along. Again, I was amazed when I looked around and saw people of different races, from different cultures, different social backgrounds, all trying to keep the show going for the sake of praising God. I think the part that amazed me the most was when The Zambian group sang "It is well with my soul" in a Zambian language as the rest of the crowd sang it in English. It was really beautiful and amazing! I can't even put it into words. All I know is that the whole crowd was moved. So, the of course I've had a Bible verse running through my head the entire rest of the day. Psalms 100:1-2 "Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands. Praise the Lord with gladness, come before His presence with singing."

Yeah so I just had an amazing day and needed to share it

Grace && Peace

LOL if you want to check out more videos of both the Zambian Vocal Group and of Keona you can check out my youtube channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/coconutUPbutt (which I hope the link works). And if you like the Zambian Vocal Group you can go to http://www.zambianvocalgroup.com and check out their stuff. They actually made a school back in Zambian with 115? students, most of which are orphans. The town they come from is really poor apparently. If you are born there, nothing is expected to come from you. So, any cd's or posters you buy, the money goes to their mission type things like that school which rely fully on donations. I don't know why I'm telling so much information, but I guess I just think everyone should know about this amazing group of guys and what all they do.
