anxiety

Hi iam 23 and suffer from BPD and Bulimia.

But over the past few weeks i have had a problem with anxiety. i have been getting a tremor and sweaty and having to run to the loo waaaaaay to often.

I saw the psychiatrist yesterday who changed my meds to fluoxetine (60mg), olanzapine (10mg in the morning and 10 at night) and now diazepam 10mg a day, and temazepam 10mg at night.

sorry i am going slightly off track,

anyway i was wondering if anyone has any tips on how to deal with crippling anxiety as my psychiatrist was not much help in that respect. i think she just likes dishing out tablets.

any help is most appreciated.

thanks,

Shelley

If you can, pick up a book or two from a local bookstore or a site like amazon. There are a lot of really helpful tips in some of them. Look into thinks like mindfulness and grounding techniques. If you're interested, I'm sure there's some of us that could tell you more about those two things, just ask. Positive self talk can be helpful. Reasoning with yourself and telling your self it'll be okay and there's nothing to worry about. Feel free to PM me, any time, if you want to talk or anything. xxx

I have issues with anxiety. My meds helped considerably. I don't have any advice. Just stick it out. Maybe try breathing exercises? Part of anxiety is biofeedback: you get anxious, then you get more anxious because of the symptoms of anxiety (high BP & HR), and so you're more anxious... vicious circle. Trying to breath or calm yourself down might help. I know that when you're having a panic attack it's impossible, but maybe try to avoid anxiety triggers? Good luck.
