Ideas please!
My boyfriend and I are celebrating our 2 year anniversary this Saturday (11th) and we're trying to think of something to do in or around London. Neither of us have a lot of money to spare so we're looking for something fairly cheap.
The standard suggestion of going out for a meal isn't great - I really don't like eating out so don't want a meal out to be the whole celebration, and we went out for a meal last anniversary. It should be something quite special though but we're both pretty unimaginative! Lol!
I've tried Googling what's on in London on Saturday but I can only find club nights (not big clubbing people) or comedy nights which don't tell me who's actually listed for that night - don't want to get tickets then find it's people we don't actually find funny.
Any ideas would be gratefully accepted.

Could go for a picnic? That way you can choose what food is there and its far more personal. Though you'd have to hope the weather holds out! I can't remember what me n mine did when we were in london for a week - mostly just touristy bits. Around the main parts theres usually stuff to see just out on the streets from what i saw. Or maybe you could book theater tickets? (they'd be getting cheap around now since its close)
Probably useless, but suggestions none the less :p

Thank you. :)
Had considered a picnic but it does rely on the weather. Although I suppose it's the kind of thing that we could change fairly easily.
I've been looking for theatre tickets or comedy club tickets but the ones I've found are about £30 each which is quite a bit once you've added in travel costs and the fact that we're poor students. Lol!
We were going to go to the BodyWorks exhibition but it's not open on Saturday and we're busy Friday which is pretty lame.

Maybe you could just be tourist for the day, go round the museums (most of them are free entry), stroll along southbank as there are normally things happening along there and people doing things. Wander around the parks?

Have checked the weather forecast for saturday - rain. Oh joy. Lol!
I'm thinking we could go to the London Aquarium maybe. Was looking at doing a Jack the Ripper walk but it's sold out for Saturday.
Looks like we'll be wandering around London for the day!

Are you both under 26?
Because if you're under 26, you can get free theater tickets, or tickets for up to £5 across the country.

Yeah we're both under 26 - where could I look for those tickets? Have spent most of today on Google and the TimeOut website trying to find stuff to do!

Cinema? Bowling?
If you want to go cheap maybe stay local? London isn't exactly cheap. *nods*

Hadn't considered bowling. . .
I live in Romford so there's not a lot to do really that I haven't done loads before. Sean lives in London and I'm staying over at his Saturday night so it seemed kinda logical to be nearer him. We're starting the day at mine though (he's staying here Friday) so we could always go bowling or something then work our way nearer to his throughout the day.

Pretty glad I asked - people are coming up with things I hadn't even considered!
There's a stand up thing about 10mins away from his house in the evening which is only a tenner to get into so I think we're gonna do that. Might suggest we cook a meal in together before we go.
Thank you all! :)
