Triggering (SI/ED) - How can I get rid of anxiety attacks?

ARRGGGGHHHH

I hate this. Had a stupid anxiety attack earlier.

Ended up dropping a glass and then sitting in the same position on the kitchen floor for 2 hours. This was after I had destroyed everything in my room; stripped my bed completely and chucked it round my room, gah it was horrible.

How can I get rid of this anxiety when it comes? It needs to be physical and involve all of my body. I've tried punching pillows etc but it doesn't really work because it only really involves my arms.

It's so horrible :(

Yeah. My parents know I get them and so does my doc. He just says to wait longer for my meds to kick in, but I've been on them 5 weeks now; surely if they were going to reduce anxiety they would have done it by now? I know they said it could make it worse at the beginning, but I'm not at the beginning anymore. :S

I just want to get a treadmill/cross-trainer t have at home so much so that I can do that when I get anxious, but my stupid parents won't let me. :(

maybe the meds need more time to kick in. tell your doctor again that you are having severe anxiety attacks. is there anything else you can do to reduce anxiety?

I would say try focusing on your breathing, taking breaths in and out. I know you say you need to be active, and that can be good, but it is worth sitting down and taking some deep focused breaths to see if that can calm you down when the anxiety hits.
