Firstly sorry for posting this - it should probably go in r and v but I want/need replies.
Secondly Biggles is my dog so we don't get confused or anything!
Currently Biggy is at the vet about to have an operation on his spleen - they don't know what's wrong but think it might be about to rupture.
Last night I was talking with people in the office about his operation and kept getting bad feedback on his vet and how we should get a second opinion etc. (one of our departments deals with pet insurance/ the other guy's family own's a pet shop). I am just so worried I mean what happen's if he doesn't make it I couldn't cope with it....
I know this is all hypothetical chances are he will be as right as rain and go on to live a much longer life than he has currently had - he is 10.
I just want him to be okay and to stop crying - damn hormones - and nobody here understand's he is a dog. Dog's are horrible hated scary creatures not your best friend...
xoxox
*updated* he is okay, his spleen was enlarged so it has been removed and his liver is looking dodgy so they have taken a biopsy of it but he is okay and will be home later....
*Second update* His stiches were taken out today and he has lost the 'buster collar' aka lampshade! He is doing well and even better new's is that his liver is okay it's going screwy but it's down to the drug's that he is on and it's not as serious as they thought it was.
so thank you for all your kind thoughts

I really hope he's ok. Animals, cats and dogs especially, really do become more than a pet if you have them long enough. They really aren't 'just animals' at all. Slap anyone who's being stupid.
I really hope he is ok, pets are just important to us as other members of the family. It must make it even harder being surrounded by people who see dogs differently than we do.
Look after yourself, let us know how he is xx
Oh Cam, love and cuddles to you both. Maybe something like looking for a Vet who's an ex-pat might help in the future, they may be more understanding?? None the less, take care of the two of you.

My heart just needs his smile, that i can't forget, like so melancholy a kiss.
She's dutch!! It's the rest of the office who think I am mad - crying over a dog!!

A Dutch in Dubai? No ex-pat Brits? Screw the office Cam, there's nothing wrong in the slightest about crying over a dog; hell, when there was the possibility one of the ponies had Cushings, i was bawling my eyes out! Loads of huggles to you both.

I'm sorry I didn't get to this thread sooner and I *really* pleased he is OK!! You certainly aren't the only person who's pets do become part of the family, but I'm glad that he is otay and screw the mean people in the office.... from what you told me about them when you were here anyway, they aren't worth your time.
"When the planes hit the Twin Towers, as far as I know none of the phone calls from the people on board were messages of hate or revenge - they were all messages of love. If you look for it, I've got a sneaky feeling you'll find that love actually is all around.”
I'm glad that he's ok. I know how difficult it is to face the prospect of losing a dog, it can be so difficult to deal with sometimes. I hope that his liver turns out to be alright also.

Some of us soar to the stars
Some of us sail through our troubles
And some have to live with the scars
I'm glad to hear that he is doing much better, and don't worry about crying over him at the Vets. The stuffy office workers can shove it.

Well it breaks my heart to see you this way,
The beauty in life, where's it gone?
And somebody told me you were doing okay,
Somehow I guess they were wrong.
I'm so glad he's okay, that's great! And there's absolutely nothing wrong with being so upset and worried, pets aren't 'just animals', I'm exactly the same about my pets. You take care of both of you.
