Triggering (SI) - CONFUSED . COM (bpd)
i had my first psych assessment today, was freaking out all day but it really werent so bad. However it did bring up some things i didnt wanna think about =[. Anyway at the end of the session after like 2 hours he said i got severe depression and by the sounds most likely Bi-Polar. (also getting put on new/more medication)
THEN i had an appointment with my CPN after that and i explained to her the assessment and what happened and she says she agrees with the depression and new meds BUT she doesnt think im Bi-Polar and he has got it wrong :S she also said she wants me to do some of the Bpd quizzes online n see what they see? are they any good. how can you really tell if you are or not ? n why would a psych say i am n a nurse say im not ?
like i said CONFUSED!!
anyway she also told me i had to go get my cuts stitched up at A&E before it got infected. i either had to go tonight or she would take me in morning. so i went tonight, the nurses were nice BUT the doctor was an utter arse and kept saying stupid things like. you shouldnt do this. its a bit daft and your wasting my time !!
URGH IM ANNOYED CONFUSED AND WANNA CUT AGAIN
help. please. any advice on the bi polar thing or anything would be good.
sorry for the rant

I know it can be a lot to take in after an assessment. After my assessment I was exhausted and my mind was practically spinning trying to take in all the information, some of which was a huge surprise to me.
From any of the online quizzes I've taken, I have not found them to be helpful in accurately determining if any specific kind of psychological disorder is present.
I think you would benefit most from researching information on both bi-polar disorder and borderline personality disorder. Many disorders have symptoms which overlap and it can be very difficult to determine which one someone may have. If your psych is not as experienced with certain disorders, this may also be a reason for a mis-diagnosis.
It sucks that the doctor was an idiot. Most doctors don't seem to understand mental illness, despite the fact that so many mentally ill people need medical treatment as a result of symptoms they are experiencing. Try not to let it get you down. You need to focus on yourself right now. *hugs*

Hun, please don't cut again. It won't help or make anything better. *HUGS* I'm not sure what to say. Though I'd would believe what your psych says as they are in a 'higher' thing (don't know what you call it sorry) than a CPN. Take care, sweet. xo.
