Triggering (Substance Abuse) - Problem with alcohol? *SI trig also*

I use alcohol to try and forget things and make things feel better. After flipping out again at the weekend and not being able to differentiate the voices from those around me, I promised my little sis that I wouldn't drink vodka again. Here I am again, a few days later - although admittedly nowhere near as drunk but drunk nontheless. Can it really be considered a problem? I know my cpn and psych don't like me to drink but it makes me cut less severely and therefore scar less which is more of a consideration to me. Sorry, rambling.

i think you need to decide for yourself if its a problem.
perhaps you could add up how much you drink in a week and see if its excessive? o4 just try to moderate how much you drink by only taking a certain amount of money out with you or giving your purse to someone else to look after so you don't get to that point again?
take care
*hugs*

If you are drinking for emotional reasons liek that, i think you need to look closely at what is happening.

My husband is my best friend.

In forgiving others, we are not exonerating them. They may not deserve exoneration. Rather, in forgiving others we are giving up our anger over the fact that what happened is not what "should" have happened or that our life is not the way it "should" have been.

If your using alcohol to make things better then it is a problem, dont you think, its a drug, people use drugs to make themselves feel different, alcohol is no different other than it being a legal drug, thats the only difference, think about it, tc eh shaz.

I suppose I know it's a problem but not ready to address it yet. If you have a problem with it, does it always mean that you have to give it up completely as I can't see that ever happening?

Tahts awesome! Do you get WD's from stopping/ Just wondered cos anytim ei talk/post of quitting ppl always suggest doing it with medical help.
Is a rehab an option for you? I tried one once but they classed one of my meds as addictive (which it is) and said i couldnt have it there...and i just couldnt be off it at the time so i ahd to leave after just a few hours!
Anyways, really proud of you hun. PM if you like ok. I can definitely understand what you are going thru.

I'm ****ed. Usually takes way more than this but I suppose I haven't been drinking for a week and put back on Fluoxetine which seems to make me ridiculously drunk quickly.

I have sometimes drunk as a method of self harm but often use it to make my cutting less severe which I know sounds weird but it too pissed to use my tool properly, my cutting is less severe.

Drinking tonight - oh well.

Should someone of 5ft height and just in the normal range of weight be able to drink a bottle of wine with no effect. I need a couple more - argh!
