Loneliness

I really don't know why but I constantly feel lonely and have to be with someone all the time, otherwise I feel terrible. It's like I can't be on my own for more than a few hours without feeling alone, which makes me feel miserable. Surely this isn't "normal"? Surely "normal people" can handle being alone for a bit?

Anyone else experienced anything similar?

I have. Like when I see my friends for a few hours and then they go home, I feel so down and alone. *HUGS* If it isn't nomral for 'normal people' then I'm not normal either. I don't have any advice, but just know you're not alone. xx

Katie: At least I know I'm not alone in this! And I'm glad to see that your status says that you're feeling strong. That's what I like to hear

I completely relate to what you're saying. I struggle constantly with being lonely. At times I want alone time but for some reason its still hard for me. I've always wanted people around. It actually causes problems for me in my relationship because sometimes my boyfriend wants to be alone and not have to spend every second of his time with me.

I don't think its normal and if its affecting your life negatively it might be helpful to talk to someone professional about it. Its definitely something I'm trying to work on in therapy...of course I have about a hundred other things that are of higher priority, but yeah.

I totally understand this, but then again I haven't been left on my own for more than 2 1/2 hours (apart from when I'm sleeping) in three years.
If I don't talk to someone, after a while (an hour or so) I get really lonely. I have a fear of being left on my own though, unless I'm in a place I feel comfortable in. It was really bad two years ago, I cried for ages because the person I was with had to leave the room. But its getting better.

Is there anyone you can talk to about it?

xxxx
