Periods

Hey, just a little worried, I havn't had a period in ages. I mean 3-4 months or something around that. I know it can take a couple of years after your first start for them to become regular but then that means they should be by now, and most of the time they were regular-ish.

I'm not underweight and there's no chance I could be pregnant. The only thing I can think of is when I OD a while ago, I don't think I've had a period since then, but I didn't think ODs could affect stuff like that?

I'm not exactly complaining, just unsure why.

Thanks.
xx

Your best bet is going to the doctors about this as there could be underlying reasons behind this. Some of the resons could be

Stress
Increased exercise - some women athletes don't have periods for many months at a time.
Weight loss - this is true for many women losing weight, worse for sufferers of bulimia/anorexia.
Illness

Another reason could be if you have started any medication since your last period, as some medications can interfere with this

Late Period?

Being a woman can be quite complicated when you have to contend with fluctuating hormones and missed periods. It can be scary to discover you have an irregular, missed or absent period. There are so many different health factors that have an effect on your menstrual cycle that it can be hard for you or a doctor to determine the cause. Before you begin to worry, though, consider whether any of these situations might apply to you and learn what you can you do to bring back your period if they do.
First Things First

You must begin by asking yourself a series of questions:
  • How long has it been since I missed my period?
  • Am I taking birth control?
  • Is there a possibility I might be pregnant?
  • Do I have bleeding between periods?
  • How often do I have heavy menstrual bleeding?
Once you have answered these questions, and any others that come to mind, you should write them down and show them to your doctor during a check-up.

Most women will have between 10 to 13 regular periods every year. It is common for periods to be irregular at the beginning and end of your menstruating years.
Why is it Late?

There can be several explanations as to why you have had a late or missed period that depend on your unique health history and lifestyle. Among the more common reasons, late or missed periods can be caused by variety of factors including: However, there are also several other reproductive disorders that can have a direct effect on menstruation, causing your period to be late or irregular.

Please PM me with the details of your OD so I can try and determine if it may be playing a role in this.

Well it breaks my heart to see you this way,
The beauty in life, where's it gone?
And somebody told me you were doing okay,
Somehow I guess they were wrong.

any stress or chemical changes to your body can cause your period to stop and generally an OD involves both, i wouldn't be too concerned, but i would recommend talking to a doctor, even just call up and ask without making an appointment to see if it's something to be more concerned about.
