I don't think your doctor could lock you up or tell your parents anything unless you described clear intention to attempt suicide, and not just thoughts about it. And even still I don't think she could tell your parents anything as you're legally an adult, and you're medical history is still confidential even if you're determined to be a danger to yourself or unable to make your own medical decisions or whatnot.
But keep in mind that everyone reacts differently to medications, and at different doses, so there's no guarantee that any particular dose of any particular medication would not have lasting or even life-treatening consequences. The therapeutic doses for most OTC medications are enough lower than the toxic and lethal doses that there's generally very little risk of any significant damage from the recommended dose, but that's not necessarily true for the margin between the toxic dose (the dose where it starts to cause damage/harm to your body), and the lethal dose, and it's hard to predict where either of those boundries lies for a given individual. It's good that you don't want to do perminant damage, but keep in mind that if you choose to overdose on something, you could end up doing perminant damage accidentally, no matter how much research you do before hand, simply because there's no way to know for sure how sensitive you'll be to that particular substance.
