General Medical Question - Urgent - Infection Maybe.

Ok so I'll do my best to describe it..

basically i cut myself last night, cleaned them off, they were gaping slightly but not enough to need stitches.

anyway in my sleep they opened up and bled again.

but they seem really red round the edges... i never normally get this on my arms, normally just on my thighs... i don't think it's an infection as they don't hurt to touch or poke.

also on some of them there is a kinda pussing looking scab but it isn't puss. well i don't think it is.

i'm not quite sure whether i've described it adequately. i'm just slightly worried... any advice muchly appreciated.

thanks

Does the area feel warm to touch?
Have you treated the wounds at all?

They don't feel warm and there's no smell emitting from them.

It's just like a reddy bruise around where the cut is... which I'm confused about... could it be blood under the skin that didn't bleed out?

I didn't think infection could set in this early.

oh yeah and I cleaned them with diluted savlon solution as i usually do... so nothing new there - that has never caused this.

Infections can set is quickly in some cases.
However, these dont currently sound infected.
You might have slept on them funny which can irratate the skin. Which would explain the redness. Its also possible that perhaps your skin was dry, which can make it more senstive.

For now, I would keep an eye on them. Maybe put a dressing over them with some anti bacterial cream on it, just to catch anythig which might be there.

Try not to panic to much over it. Just look after the wounds to ensure that there is nothing nasty in there.

Take Care
Kim
