Cakes!

I have made cakes, so many types of cake, I have baked all day.
I can't possibly eat this many cakes, partly because some contain jam or cherries, and I hate jam and cherries. What on earth could I possibley do with about 40 cakes?

Also, am I the only person that thinks that the use of jam and/or cherries in baked goods is a form of evil, cause I seem to be, and it's lonely being alone on my jam and cherry haters island!

Also, I have eaten several, so this may be the sugar talking.
So I shall conclude by asking, can anyone remember the proper proportions of egg to flour to sugar to butter for plain sponge cake? cause I need to actually write it down somewhere.

And i hate jam and cherries too, and fruit cake thingys with the little raisin type things...i can't spell that though :(

And I hate the raisin things, sultanas probably. They're obviously evil, I mean, look, they're weird and look like rabbit droppings, don't put them in my food!

Exactly, exactly. Cake - good, should be eaten (or fed to me, but not 40 cakes) Sultanas - evil, should not be eaten.
Someone looked and said, well, opposites attract, but positive and negative made a double negative, cause there's sultanas(negatives) ruing good cake (another negative)

I bake all the time, so I shall give you the proportions!

For a 4oz cake:
4oz butter or margarine
4oz self raising flour
4oz caster sugar
2 eggs

For a 6oz cake:
6oz butter or margarine
6oz self raising flour
6oz caster sugar
3 eggs

For an 8oz cake:
8oz butter or margarine
8oz self raising flour
8oz caster sugar
4 eggs

There. Can you tell I bake a lot?

*raises hand* Fruit/jam should be banished from cakes. Cakes is for being naughty, fruit is for being good.

Why did you make cakes with cherries in them if you don't like them?

I am about to make biscuits. Heart shaped valentines biscuits. For my best friend. Not my boyfriend lol. Priorities!

This has made me smile! It's like something I would do, make lots of cakes that I don't even like and then not have anyone to give them to. I can join you on your cherry and jam haters island

If I'm honest, jam doesn't bother me that much but cherries?! EWewewewew why do recipes ever include them?!

I just realised while writing this that I don't really like any cake *thinks* hmm I'm sure there is some I like, I just can't remember it right now.

But baking is fun, I like to bake. I make a kick ass apple crumble - ooooh I need to make that again soon, you've put ideas in my head now. We should all get to baking and then post pictures of the pretty things we made - yay for ideas!

Okay now I shut up, I'm on a sugar rush at the moment too - hence the rubbish I speak

My mum taught me that for any simple sponge cake you just weigh the number of eggs you wanna use and use that weight for the butter, sugar and flour =D So simple!!

I made a cinnamon and nutella cake today but it's for tomorrow so I haven't had any yet... might be disgusting for all I know!!

i hate fruit in cakes, except for in welsh cakes obv, cause they are special :)
