Overdose/ Self-Poisoning Question - Time for overdose.
How long should i keep it until i get to the hospital for an o/d?
I mean, say(for example) i took an overdose an hour, would it be too late to get help, like what's the limits, like an hour?
I mean i know 24 hours is too long to leave it,and they can't do anything after 24 hours.
I've not took an overdose, but i have pills,so chances are,i will within the next hour...i'll just try my best to distract myself.
Thanks xx

So stand in the rain. Stand your ground. Stand up when it's all crashing down. You stand through the pain. You won't drown.

After an ovedose, the sooner you seek treatment the better.
The quicker treatment is given the more they can do to prevent damage.
However, there is no set time limit to seeking help.
Depending on what you overdose on, damage may still be inflicted even days after you have taken it.
So as a rule, stick to seeking help AS SOON AS POSSIBLE
You say you have tablets now. My advice would be to get rid of the temptation. Wrapper them up in toilet paper and flush them down the toilet. If you havnt got them, you can take them!
Take care

If you have taken an overdose. Get to the hospital right away. usually in the first two hours they would give you charcoal to get rid of the tablets.
But if you leave it too long you can cause serious harm, Or even risk having a tube inserted into your throat to take out the tablets.
You might have the tablets removed from your body but it can still cause lasting damage.
Please don't do anything silly, We are all here for you. x

with any OD it is important to get medical attentio and see what damage has been done they can do this through varied tests at the hospital and can usually detact damage months after the inital od happened.
