Scrolling up automatically while editing posts.

I'm not sure if this is just my computer, but it's really irritating. Whenever I try and edit a long post, I'll scroll down to the bit I want to change. If I don't do anything, like immediately write something, the computer will automatically scroll back up to the top.

It's making it really hard to edit posts, and it's now impossible to read through the post before I send it. Help?

That's really weird.

Are you in the advanced editing bit when this happens, or the normal bit, or does it make no difference?

It doesn't make a difference. I think it might just be my computer. :\

How very odd, not anything to do with us though I very much doubt.

So when you scroll down, and start writing something - does it scroll to the top but start writing down where you scrolled?

When you scroll down, have you clicked in the edit box - because otherwise the cursor would still be sitting at the first line, it doesnt follow the scroll

I hope I'm understanding what you mean

i have that issue as well..When you are writting and stop it can scroll up and if you are reading over what you have wrote it tends to do it then as well

Now we all have a great need for acceptance, but you must trust that your beliefs are unique, your own, even though others may think them odd or unpopular, even though the herd may go.

pathetic

If I scroll down, and don't write anything immediately, then it'll just scroll back up. If I scroll down and write something, it normally just stays where it is until I stop writing and then it goes back up to the top again. If I scroll down and highlight something, then click the hyperlink box, it'll scroll back up. Then if I write in the hyperlink box and press enter the link will be put in where I wanted it to be.

And yeah, I've clicked in the edit box.

It's really hard to explai, but I know what I'm talking about, haha.

It happens to me, but not if I click "go advanced".

Isn’t it funny how day by day nothing changes but when you look back, everything is different…

I think there might be a weird Javascript bug here...I've had it do it to me just once or twice only when quick replying to posts...seems to be dependant on mouse position however though...

Who here in this thread *isn't* using IE7, and if so, what are you using? (exact browser version would be good - Help menu > About...)

You can get menus in IE7 by pressing the [Alt] key (not [Alt Gr]!) on your keyboard ;) I'm having a think about this scrolling issue - no promises as it seems to be confined to a very small number of users and is difficult to replicate - I'll post back here if I have some ideas though!
