It's all so overwhelming lately.

I'm new here, and what really brought me here was the fact that I'm feeling so overwhelmed by everything lately. I thought I was over my depression and everything else (SI, ED) but lately it's getting harder and harder. I've tried distractions and rational thinking but nothing is working. I finally decided that I need help - the signs are so obvious to me since I've been through this once before - but that's as much clarity I have. I'm trying really hard to be strong but I'm slowly crumbling. I thought about going to talk to a professional, but I'm so scared of even admitting I have a problem to anyone I'm close with. My parents, my boyfriend, my friends. Some of them have been there in the past, some haven't, but I'm so scared to say anything to any of them. I don't want to be the "freak" or the friend that everyone has to be happy around because she's insane. I'm so sick of being the one with problems.

I'm sorry that you're going through a rough time. It's okay to crumble and ask for help/admit you need help. I can understand you not wanting to talk to those close to you, i feel the same alot of the time. i get tired of always being the one to complain about something. But they really do care, and they would want to know. Perhaps you could let them know you're not feeling very strong and need some support, but let them know they don't need to act happy around you etc. hope this makes some sense. pm me if you want to talk. i don't mind. take care x

With my last breath I’m choking
Will this ever end? I'm hoping
My world is over one more time

sorry you're feeling so bad. you could always go to your doctor or whoever first, and start getting some professional support before you tell friends or family. i haven't told any of my friends in three years that i'm involved with MH services (though sometimes i think it might be better if they knew, so if you felt able i think you might find it easier long-term if you told them)

Hey, if you think you are at the point where you need help then i think you should go for it, go and talk to your gp maybe?
i understand the feeling of not wanting everyone to know, that was also the reason i put off getting help again but when i got to the point you are at now i just had to do something, and my parents now know and they werent mad and they dont see me any differently they just care and want to help.
what im trying to get across is that it is hard to let the people you are close to in but when they do know they will care and want to help in any possible way.
