Anyone else?

This usually happens when I'm feeling anxious, but things around me kind of get distorted. For example when I was in hospital a while ago on a drip, I was extremely anxious and worried that the doctor was trying to kill my by putting air bubbles into my bloodstream, and my vision became distorted so that the objects near me were kind of moving, twisting and leaning in, if that makes sense. And just now, while I was driving, I came to a level crossing and for some reason the gate looked like it was swinging towards me without warning which made me anxious, and when I got home, I noticed that the same kind of thing was happening.

It's happened other times too, usually when I'm feeling very anxious. Is this something that most people experience with anxiety?

Everything goes blurry when i'm really anxious. Although i'm not sure if that's the same / similar to what you're describing. Have you told anyone else about this?

But if i still believe you love me, maybe i'll survive.
So i tell myself you're coming home, like you've done a million times.
& if it's alright, i'll still be loving you.
'cause i can't break it to my heart.

That happens to me sometimes too, although it's not always due to anxiety for me.

I'm sorry... I fail at RYL...

It's kind of difficult to describe really and I'm not seeing any professionals at the moment so I don't really have anyone to tell. It's not that things go blurry, more that like the walls or whatever is near me lean closer, or kind of ripple, or the colours get brighter and engulf me, kind of thing and it feels claustrophobic and not quite right.

That happens to me all the time!
Recently i've had strange vision for like a week due to anxiety.
It's like my eyes don't focus properly if i'm feeling anxious.

Should've said something but I've said it enough.

Yes. Gosh, yes.
Vision distortion. It's awful&makes everything worse.

This is called derealisation.

Quote:
Derealization (DR) is an alteration in the perception or experience of the external world so that it seems strange or unreal
Quote:
The detachment of realization can be described as an immaterial substance that separates a person from the outside world, such as a sensory fog, a pane of glass, or a veil... Familiar places may look alien, bizarre, and surreal... Another symptom of this condition can be constant worrying or strange thoughts that people find hard to switch off.
It is basically a symptom of anxiety. I would suggest seeing a doctor about it, anything which will reduce anxiety will help this, be it talking therapies and coping skills or medication.

You dont have to be feeling particularly anxious at the time, I went through a period of this when I was quite stressed out but not having panic attacks or anything.

Isn’t it funny how day by day nothing changes but when you look back, everything is different…
