Why can't i let people go? I have lost many friends, changed many psychologists and psychiatrists and i can't forget them. Especially my friends, who have hurt me so much. Im afraid of losing people, but also i can't forget the people i have lost. When something reminds me of them, i become very sad and want to hurt myself. Is it because of my borderline? I can't talk to anyone about this...

I don't have an answer hun however, I have seen your posts recently and can identify with some of them and the pain. I don't have any magic tips for you but keep fighting - you are a beautiful, intelligent young woman who can have a great life. We all need to somehow find a way of fighting. At the moment it is so difficult, you can't even imagine it as it is so difficult but I hope that both you and I will some day find a way to fight and have that "normal" life. Keep posting and fighting hun.

No body likes to lose people, especially people who were there for you (your friends, psychologists and psychiatrists). Maybe you can't let them go because you don't want to? You don't want to admit that they're gone, so your mind holds onto the memories of them very tightly.

If they are people you should be around i.e. not the ones who got you into the drugs, for example, could you find a way of telling them that the way they have treated you has hurt you?

I get like that too but then I'm also borderline. Can you try to talk to your psychologist (if you still have one) as they may be able to suggest ways for you to cope with it.
Sometimes the way in life seems cloudy...But remember, after the storm comes clear skies
I only have a psychiatrist at the hospital i was at, but no psychologist...i want to have one to talk to once a week etc. i only go to group therapy once the week, which is at the hospital, and people from the hospital go there, who don't have problems like mine.

Hey i know that this isnt gonna help you one bit but i think im very very much like you on this.i find letting go of people [and sometimes any people even those who hurt me] very very difficult and at times this process causes me immense pain so i really feel for you.i dont know what my diagnosis is at the moment - nor apparently do the GP or mental health team or dont want to tell me lol but i have been told i have BPS previously/BPD traits. So i guess it may well be part of that although i think change and letting go can well be hard for a lot of people no matter what sometimes.
Also i wondered if perhaps you feel you may like some one to one therapy could you maybe perhaps ask your psycharist/GP if there is any possibility of you also seeing or at least being assessed by a NHS psychologist or GP surgery counsellor.Though they may [or may not!] be reluctant to do this right now if you are already in group therapy but i think that it is always worth the ask.But be prepared even if they agree to refer you even for an assessment it can sometimes still take a very long time to occur cos of waiting lists.
Also just a thought maybe you could try and explain to your psycharist or someone your feelings about the group therapy too somehow - either verbally or writing it down like about how you dont feel able to talk much there and also that you worry about talking etc cos many of the people there seem to have different types of problems to you.
i know its scary but just an idea cos maybe then they will be able to support you better.
Take care and good luck. Please keep posting and letting us know how you are if it helps and you feel upto it and also feel free to PM me anytime too.
i do not always manage to be around but i wish you all the very best - love and luck to you all!
Im about to have group therapy in another hospital too, about my BPD, but im on a waiting list.
it helps to know that im not alone feeling like this. i want and i go to therapy, no one has told me to go, i go because i don't have anyone else to talk to.
