What do you mean by 'blacking out'? Do you mean completely losing consciousness or something like unexplained memory lapses? Temporarily losing consciousness (but not falling over on the ground, etc) could be due to absense seizures. If you are having these, you may have a feeling that you've just missed something but not realise that it was time (or that you've just had a seizure). However, don't take what I say too seriously...go and see a doctor if you think you are blacking out!

In the end, it could be nothing...but better to be safe than merely ask on an internet forum.

Do you see anyone about your mental health? It would be best to ask them. If you don't then definitely see your gp. I suffer from blackouts (not due to my mental health - I was told they are physiological though I have a psychiatrist disputing this - it's all rather complicated!) but the point is you really do need a professional diagnosis. I do usually lose consiousness but have experienced something similar to what you describe as well.

Bit of advice (if you don't mind!) is to make a note of when it happens, where you are and what you are doing. I always get asked that and it's always hard to remember when in an appointment.

I hope you can get it sorted out.

EDIT: I'm just someone who suffers with blackouts, I have no medical training or anything.
