What sort of links are you talking about?
You cannot post links that are advertising a website/forum/etc for your own personal gain (ie. money, memberships etc), however you can post links for support, such as "there's a great article with distraction ideas here [link]"
The rules are different again for the first aid forum.

I did that - I posted a link to contraception options, on the Brook website. But it got deleted because it's an unauthorised link.
It was on the first aid forum though - why are the rules different for first aid?
I'm not being nasty about mods - I'm just curious because it wasn't a link to anything bad like porn, I was being helpful and my post got deleted.

It actually has nothing to do with the moderators - and more for the first aid advisors, I believe due to liability.
It is explained below which is from the First Aid Rules for Posting;
3. Please do not post links to websites or copy information from websites not approved by the First Aid Advisors. Please do not post RYL's First Aid articles anywhere else. A list can be found here. If you have a link you feel should be added, please PM the First Aid Advisors with the link and why you feel it should be added. This is to prevent both questionable/unreliable information from being posted/linked and to prevent copyright infringement.
However I am sure that a first aid advisor will come along and explain anything else.
Alternatively, get in touch with the advisor who edited the post.

I've replied to your PM regarding this.
It is due to the fact that we need to check the accuaracy of anything potentially linked to from the board and so we have a list where things can be linked from.

Also, yeh, just to also re-iterate. The articles that are on the First Aid part of RYL have all been written by the First Aid Advisors. They do take a lot of time to research, write, check, re-check, add links, format and then discuss with the team. They are then left to the rest of the team to again be checked, things altered and things added/ deleted. Because of this we DO NOT want them to be copied outside of RYL. This has happened in the past so if you notice articles on here that look suspiciously similar to something elsewhere can you please let the First Aid Team or the Mods know. I think this probably applies to all of the articles on RYL (though if they are not First Aid related just discuss it with the mods/ community team) which do all take a lot of time and committment to make (especially when they turn out to be a much bigger job then you first anticipated!).
Thanks,
KimA

Like Kim said we like knowing that any links posted give accurate information. For all we know a link could say that rubbing a carrot on your nose prevents pregnancy, and we can't really have that posted!
With only 3 members on the team we don't really have the time to thoroughly check out every single link that gets posted, which is why we have the rule. If there is a link that someone feels really should be linked, they can PM one of us and we will check it out.

Well it breaks my heart to see you this way,
The beauty in life, where's it gone?
And somebody told me you were doing okay,
Somehow I guess they were wrong.
